If you work an office job, you know that the standard 30 minutes for lunch is short. Like, unfair short. Sorry to anyone that doesn’t even get an unfair short lunch. It’s what I imagine hell to be like.
So back to the short lunches. Yes, I can scarf the entire contents of my lunch pail in about five minutes, but the “lunch break” is not actually about eating. The lunch break is about mentally, and sometimes physically, escaping the confines of your nine-to-five and having a moment to breath or gossip or vent. Probably all three.
Normally, my gal pals and I are poised like sprinters, waiting for the friggin’ stroke of noon to drop everything we were pretending to work on and heat up/prepare whatever healthy lunch we are forcing ourselves to eat that day. You know it’s true. You pack a salad Tuesday night but by Wednesday at noon all you want is a frozen burrito and a slushie…but we are good girls. SO then, through our weakened and starving state, we rush to our tiny office to shut off the lights, lock the door, and inhale our salads and vegetables with beans in total utter darkness and silence. That is a solid 10 minutes, maybe 15 if someone gets caught answering the phone at 11:57 a.m. Then the last 15 minutes we rush around yet again to put our stuff away and change into sneakers for a quick walk before we are back on government time.
We are not crazy health nut exercise enthusiasts. This is actually more time to vent so our heads don’t explode mid-afternoon.
And now, to make things even more hectic, we (I) thought we’d squeeze in another activity to our lunch time routine. Thank God my coworkers are tolerant and love me sooooo much. Hence the birth of the weekly Lunch Break Makeovers (LBM).
Ta Da!!!
Now the rules for LBM are; it can only take five minutes since we still need to eat and gossip, the products can’t be super expensive, and whether it looks good or not we post it. Life is not perfect and neither are LBM’s. Ignore the terrible lighting, messy office, and Emily’s lunch pail is in the back ground. This week my gorgeous bestie Heather volunteered her face to try out my favorite new highlighting foundation by MaskCARA Cosmetics. Obviously she is a beauty. I mean, look at those eyes and the shimmering black hair! But she does like to cover some of her redness without feeling like she has a mask on. I get that. I too, cover redness like it’s my full time job. So Emily and Jez turned on some tunes we gave it a test run…
She looked so fresh after we were done! Next time, we definitely want to try contouring a little more and maybe some bronzer, too. But for the purpose of covering redness, it was a win. Overall she really liked it, though she still felt like it was a little heavier than she prefers. I’d say next time we could definitely use less and get the same affect. Also, this foundation is best (in my opinion) to be set with a makeup setting spray for long wear which we did not have on hand.

Sephora Collection: The Perfectionist Sponge-I have had this guy FOREVER
I like using the sponge for the application AND for the blending because it is easier to clean daily and I find if you are a little shaky on technique this works well. BUT I just recently learned a fancy new blending technique and bought some new tools so, there’s that coming soon.
AND THAT’S IT! See, a natural beauty I tell ya’!
Alright ladies, if you had 5 minutes to try a new product or technique what would you choose? Maybe a skin or makeup concern that you’d like me to investigate? Suggest it because my friends and I would love to try it out!!!

I do not even know how I ended up here, but I thought this post was great.
I don’t know who you are but certainly you’re going to a famous blogger
if you aren’t already 😉 Cheers!
