If this was a John Hughes film, she’d be Ally Sheedy and I’d be Molly Ringwald.
Do you remember the first time you wore false eye lashes? Or had your eye brows professionally sculpted? Hannah remembers. She had both of these lovely experiences on the same day.
She may actually never forget. Or forgive me.
But lets put painful waxing and itchy eye glue aside for a moment and appreciate the ultimate teenage dream: The Glam Makeover.
This is my niece Hannah. Can you believe the sass? And those lips?!?! This was BEFORE we even applied lipstick. Just pure, naked lip action. Those brows are courtesy of the Benefit Brow Bar at Ulta. I barely did anything because they were so darn perfect.
Alllll of this was not for a sweet selfie sesh. Hannah had a hot date and a high school dance to attend. Since she is sixteen, I thought it was important to not cross the age appropriate line. It’s one thing to contour and wear winged liner but I didn’t want to age her with too much makeup. She is seriously perfect without. We went with a light, natural look and focused on her eyes with false lashes and great brows to really open them up.
The Method:
THE NIGHT BEFORE- Shower and exfoliate/hydrate skin in preparation for sunless tanner. You can see my tutorial on how to get a kick ass tan HERE.
THE MORNING OF GLAM DAY- We buzzed her face with a Clarisonic twice and applied an AHA exfoliant followed by a light moisturizer. Clean, hydrated skin is best for makeup application! Then we applied a 1 Hour Dark Tan Mousse. After our hour was up, the mousse was rinsed off and she was properly bronzed.
THE MAKEUP-
Foundation L’Oreal True Match Lumi in Porcilan/Ivory
Contour Maskcara Contour in Walnut
Highlight/Conceal Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Concealer in Fair
ILLUMINATOR/BLUSH NYX Illuminator in Narcissistic and Physicians Formula Powder Palette Bombshell Glow
SHADOW- Too Faced Stardust Palette (I would link to it but they don’t make it anymore)
We used the neutral cream shade (chandelier) dusted from lid to brow bone- Warm beige (Millennial) blended in the crease- Deep brown (Girl’s Night) defining the crease- Black (Sin City) in the outer v- Golden brown (Jackpot) on the lid- Tap a sheer platinum glitter shadow (The Strip) on the center of the lid and near the inner corner.
I wish you could see the shadow in the picture above. It was magnificent. Next time, more photos.
Lashes were Eylure Vegas Nay in Shinning Star
BROWS NYX brow powder in Brunette
AND what fun is a makeover without a gratuitous selfie???

Now bring on the high school dance stories! I want to relive all of that 90’s and 00’s glory.
